A DAY TO PRAY

Historically this is a day to fast, lament and pray WITH Israel. This is the month of AV on the Jewish calendar. It’s the month of Simeon that began July 22 and ends in Aug 20. It is the "low point" of the Jewish calendar. Specifically today, it is Tish’a B’Av, the 9th of Av. This is an historic day of destruction for the people of Israel.

It was the day the people of Israel chose to receive the negative report of the 10 spies and refused to enter the Promised Land. This date was also marked by the destruction of both the first and second Temples in Jerusalem and many more terrible things.

The Bible says in Galatians 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

In Messiah we are one new man. And the Scriptures remind us that those who bless Israel will be blessed. Psalm 122 reminds us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

“Pray for shalom in Yerushalayim; may those who love you prosper. May shalom be within your ramparts, prosperity in your palaces. For the sake of my family and friends, I say, “ Shalom be within you!” For the sake of the house of ADONAI our God, I will seek your well-being.” Tehillim (Psa)‬ ‭122:6-9‬ ‭Complete Jewish Bible Translation

This is why we pray WITH Israel today. We not only pray for the nation of Israel and for her protection and for her leaders but we pray for ours as well.

I encourage you today to fast a meal if you can. I encourage you to stand and watch and pray in the spirit. I encourage you today to plead the blood of Jesus over everything concerning your life. I encourage you to anoint yourself with oil, anoint pictures of your loved ones if you can’t anoint them in person; also anoint your home, the 4 corners of your property, including all the things you own-material things like your trucks or cars, appliances etc... As you do, declare out the protection of Psalm 91 and Psalm 23.

We are reminded in John 10:10, that the thief comes only to steal kill and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life in fullness-Life in abundance! Declare abundance out over your life, your family, this nation and Israel today.

The Bible promises us: “For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” Psalm‬ ‭84:11‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Declare out loud the promises of God over your home, your family, friends and everything concerning you today. Do the same for this nation and for your state, as well for the nation of Israel.

Shalom,

Dana
